Life After NYSC POP (Transition Blueprints Series)

We are pleased to share an advanced draft of “Life After NYSC POP”, developed as part of the Transition Blueprints Series under WhatNext Africa.

This document is designed as a practical guide to support young people as they transition from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) into the next phase of life - whether employment, entrepreneurship, further education, or other pathways into the broader marketplace.

It reflects a structured attempt to consolidate key transition considerations including self-reflection, career planning, networking, job search strategies, financial planning, wellbeing, and adaptability.

While this version is already a functional and usable guide, it is still part of a living body of work. It will continue to evolve into a more comprehensive transition systems framework that integrates deeper labour market realities, structured transition pathways, and implementation tools.

Feedback, insights, and collaborative suggestions are welcome as we refine this into a more robust national-level transition resource for young Nigerians.

Life after NYSC POP is not an end - it is a transition into intentional future-building.
